This video explains how to get virtualbox to play Wolf4SDL. The tutorial is near the 32 minute mark. The virtualbox ISO guest additions might also need to be installed and ram on the virtual machine will need to be configured and 3D acceleration might need to be enabled.

Why would you want to use VirtualBox to play Wolf4SDL? Wolf4SDL is designed to run on modern computer systems.

Matthew, I create and test SDL mods using Windows XP because Windows 7 and 10 have issues with the old version of Dev C++.

I've used the old version of Dev-C++ in Windows 7 myself without issue (although not much because I much prefer Codeblocks); what issues were you having with it?

I've had those same issues, Joshua. It seems the code in some instances acts differently when compiled in Windows 7 than it does in Windows XP. The Map Names code is one such example. I never got it working right in Windows 7, so I hacked it up to get it reading map names from an external file.

If your code behaves differently based on operating system (at least for stuff like map names and entirely internal stuff) then either you haven't programmed it properly, or the compiler you were using is broken, especially given you're using MinGW which is identical regardless of OS.

It had to have been the compiler, then. I had three fellow DHW members verify the code I put in, and all of them said the code was correct.
