I have a project nearing code-completion (sort of) and I need to start work on the content, but as I'm absolutely rubbish at art and I'd like to have some new textures in the game, does anyone have some reasonably traditional textures in the SoD palette that they can contribute (or at least point me towards)?

I think I might have seen some of those before in packs on the Dome, but there's some I hadn't that might be useful, thanks Smile

When updating the Wolf3D palette to Spear Of Destiny, the only change Id made was replacing two shades of purple with two shades of green. Aside from some second-rate graphics by Yours Truly, every texture I've tried loads fine in the SOD palette.

Some good sources would here ...

Yeah, I know, and I could probably modify ones that don't myself. I kind of meant that they should like they fit with the original textures too rather than purely the palette.

Also, I had seen those two links before, but thanks for reminding me of them. Smile

Try Wolfenstein Missions and Coffee Break Episode 2. Be sure to read the credits if you borrow any because most of them are not mine.

Is there an easy way to convert the textures from the PK3 into bitmaps/PNGs/whatever?

I suppose if you're aiming for a program where you can select a large number of files for the same operation (rather than selecting one file at a time for the same operation, or through a command-line interpreter), one program you might try would be Graphics Workshop. It's been around for so long that you can probably obtain an older version for free. I know that every release preceding Version 5 has been discontinued by Alchemy Mindworks.

Slade3 can convert lumps to palleted or true color PNGs (and a few more formats), if that's what you're asking for.

It also works with some wolfenstein and blake stone files.
