Green Arrow is the latest mod by Team Raycast. Based on the Arrow comics and television show, you will be playing as Oliver Queen aka the Green Arrow. Forced to go on a mission by Amanda Waller, Oliver has to return to the island where he became the Arrow: Lian Yu, also known as Purgatory. A dangerous mission awaits...

Mod is standalone, no additional files or software are needed to run it.
Read "Read this!" section before playing.

There is something very basic about those wild boars you didn't discover yet (even after activating it by chance once you didn't notice you did), if you could only read the intermission before level 1 Smile

My signature hasn't been displayed in years, even though it's enabled. Now that I think about it, I don't think it's shown up since "Yahoo!" stuck that NP.Lexity.COM garbage in the DHWs message board code.

Domestic pigs are often pink like Babe, Gordi, that one from Charlotte's Web... Wild boars and pigs on the other hand are often brown and hairy.

I've played a good portion of this now. I just finished the level with the plane crash.

It's a very fun game overall. Occasionally frustrating, but still in a fun way, as there's always a lot of possiblities. The themes are pretty unique with little repetition. The number of engine changes is astounding, I don't think I've ever played any wolfenstein mod with this many coding improvements. There's actually dynamic lightning (I wonder if that one thin long dark tunnel with an enemy at the end was made in consideration of shooting fire arrows through it to create that awesome visual) and those detailed shadows, which look weird with some directionless sprites but most of the time they look hella impressive, especially with all those levels full of mixed light and darkness to showcase the full capacity.

The gameplay is pretty varied, and well balanced, all the arrow types end up being fairly useful even though some types end up being more useful than others. I rarely used the triple arrow for "hitting several enemies at once" as it's suggested in the manual, but it seems to work pretty well when fighting mutants at point-blank range where the explosive arrows wouldn't work, hitting one enemy with all three arrows for extra damage.

I think level 2 is one of the most memorable ones, with a pretty unusual situation for a wolf3d mod, where all enemies have hitscan attacks and you don't, and they're behind obstacles on top of that. But that makes it all the more satisfying when you manage to kill them anyway.

There are lots of little touches that make it really stand out. Such as several types of berries. Just having berries in addition to regular food items would be novel enough, but no, I'm pretty sure there are three distinct types of berries. And none of them poisonous, which is nice. And there are other new ways to restore health, too. Even the title picture is special! Because why have one when you can have two? The one thing that would be nice, and this isn't really a complaint or a feature request since it pretty much never happens in any game ever, the one thing that would be nice is if the player could grab one of the buckets lying around the level, fill them with water also present around the level, and pour it on the damn fire that is also present absolutely everywhere and getting in the way. I'm pretty sure I saw a mop and bucket decoration once or twice too. That one could be very useful as well...

I don't have many complaints. There are a few mapping flaws, mostly just some of the teleport exits facing the wrong way so that you get stuck in a teleporting loop until you turn around. On level 8 there are two weird tiles next to the third helicopter that look more like an absence of a skybox tile than anything real, just some protruding water tiles topped with jungle wall. The timed mission is... as annoying as expected? I'm pretty sure the tanks could hold four times as much oxygen and still retain a strong sense of urgency. The visual effect of that level is undoubtedly cool, but also utterly illogical. Does Oliver breathe with his knees, or am I supposed to just suspend disbelief here? Fortunately finishing the level was fairly doable after a few tries, even if I got particularly low percentages this time around.

A very well made and enjoyable mod, overall.

"Shotgun effect" like I called it. Yes, it seems indeed to be the main use of that arrow mode.

Most testers noted level 4... But I'm glad that level did it for you, I like it much as well.

This was related to how the mod got developed. At first we started a small urban-themed Green Arrow spinoff of "No Man's Land", then we decided to make a secret level on an island...then....we decided to have 2 settings...and so we needed 2 screens to depict those - urban and island, you can see original title images earlier this thread. Then we scrapped urban theme all together, as all the ideas went the other way...
Actual title screen were made just last week by Atina, and she had by that time 2 screens to replace...

I'm unable to find the blue key. I've found one locked door and the key for it, but it simply leads - as far as I can tell - through a few rooms, some guards, another door to the outside, and ... that seems to be it. Confused

Incredible mod indeed (downloaded but only watched the video so far). Congratulations !
I really love the dynamic lightning, it really makes a difference in atmosphere.
The immersion feeling is really nice thanks to the quality of mapping and graphics too.
