Does anyone remember the debugmode parameters for Rising Evil 2 Double Trouble, and All This and Wolfenstein 3D? Just curious thanks.

If all else fails, you might view the EXE file through a Hex editor and do a search for command line parameters. XVI32 is my personal favorite, but I suspect it's not everyone's cup of tea, especially if you prefer a DOS-based editor instead.

I'm more of an HxD person. I have a feeling debugmode was disabled in ATAW3D, mind you.

I suspected that, but couldn't confirm it. My mind tends to take memories and throw them into a pile somewhere. Confused

I tried hex editors for the 2 mods I mentioned, the strings made no sense. It looked all jumbled to me. I didn't see any words that made much sense. What do you all think?

People tended to run LZEXE over DOS mods, so you'll need to find the extractor for that. I'm not sure where it can be found these days, though.

LZEXE? This link works fine as far as I can tell. Let me know if the files are corrupted, and I'll supply you with a different link. I do try to link to the utility's home page first. Smile

LZEXE worked very well. It was just that I couldn't find the correct characters for debugmode parameters. None of the words in the .exe file for either mod made sense. I couldn't find --baby, --easy, --normal, --hard, or --goobers, or God Mode On/Off, etc. Is it possible that these are being disguised as different characters? Were these 2 .exe files made in foreign countries? What's everyone here's thoughts on this? Thanks for suggesting LZEXE.

Sometime ago, I tried a different mod from the 2 I mentioned in this post, the name of which escapes me. I used a hex editor to find the debugmode parameter and saw nothing that resembled one. The characters were all encrypted(?) I think. But I found out that this mod did have debugmode and I was able to employ it. What are everyone here's thoughts? Thanks in advance.

Well, firstly the DOS mods didn't use the dashes (unless they added them themselves). Secondly, it's possible they may have changed or removed the parameters.

Parameters like "nopro" are bound to still be in the code. You might also do a search for "warp", as this word would be in the EXE if the Debug mode is supported at all.

Oops I made a goof! I was thinking of another utility besides LZEXE. I downloaded LZEXE but I'm not sure how to work it with the EXE files for the Wolf Mods. Any advice would be great. Thanks all.

Make sure you extract LZEXE91E.ZIP. This is the full English version. Then extract UNLZEXE5.ZIP. UNLZEXE.DOC should tell you how the program is used. There is no GUI as far as I can tell. I'd recommend using the command prompt to run it rather than a batch file.
