I am starting to use the latest version of DOOM Builder to design Wolfenstein DOOM 2 pwads just for testing purposes right now. This builder is actually cool. I understand why it is more advanced than the Wolfenstein 3D level editors.

To ensure you aren't "reinventing the wheel" here, all 60 Wolf3D and 21 SOD levels have already been ported to Doom 2 mods. I'd personally recommend significant updates unless you're hell-bent on creating from scratch what's already been downloadable for years. Smile

Laz Rojas & somebody whose name I can't remember ported Wolfenstein 3D & Spear Of Destiny to Doom 2. It's in a modded source port where Hans & Gretel have Doom 2 code changes to drop a key.

AFADoomer has made updated Wolfenstein 3D levels in Doom 2. The last update was in 2016: http://afadoomer.com/wolf3d/downloads.html

I am using DOOM builder 2 to make DOOM 2 Wolfenstein SS addons. Everything else will be DOOM related. Has anyone made a Spear of Destiny DOOM crossover pwad yet? I was thinking of making one as a continuation of Spear of Destiny the Ultimate Challenge involving Abigor.

I thought that .wad means, “Where’s All the Data?” What’s an iwad or pwad?

I sometimes look at Youtube at Wolfenstein levels made in Doom (2016) snapmap. I can infer that they are done on deadlines, not finished for another reason, or only superficially Wolfenstein graphics.

I haven’t actually played the Doom 2016, Rise of The Triad 2013, or Fallout 4 games yet. These are games where you get to make your own levels. Has anybody heard of Rise of The Triad 2013 or Fallout 4 levels with Wolfenstein graphics besides on Youtube?

.wad is the extension of the file but an IWAD is the primary data file for the base game (DOOM.WAD DOOM2.WAD HERETIC.WAD HEXEN.WAD STRIFE.WAD) whereas the PWAD is an external data file (MYWAD.WAD) that is loaded alongside the IWAD.
